Recently I thought of building something, and before building, I thought of brainstorming an architecture with AI.
As usual, AI did give me an answer with an explanation, but it was not 100% correct.
So I asked AI, “Are you sure about this?”
AI replied, “Yes.”
I said, “But I can see on Google that this is not the right answer.”
AI replied, “Yes, you are right. This is not the right answer. The right answer is this…”.
I again said, “This is also wrong.”
AI replied, “Again, you are right. This is not the right answer. The right answer is this…”.
And that was also not the right answer.
I was aware of the topic I was discussing with AI, but if I wasn’t aware, then AI would have made me a fool not 1 time, but 4 times.
This impacts you the most when you are working on some important tasks and you don’t have much knowledge about them.
The problem is that AI wants to satisfy you by agreeing with what you are saying, and this is dangerous because it will agree on things even when they are not right.
If AI agrees with you, it might feel good, but it is not doing any good in terms of your growth. To grow, your thinking has to be challenged, and this can only happen when someone disagrees with your thinking; obviously, disagree in a friendly way.
This will challenge your thinking and will let you think more deeply and eventually will improve your thinking, which is a great advantage in this age of AI.
If you are letting AI think for you or if you are not letting AI challenge you to improve, then you are losing your power to the AI.
Use AI as a tool, not as a replacement for your thinking.
