8 weeks back, it was the first day of salsa in our organisation. More than 200 employees came for salsa dance class. It was an 8-session dance class.
After a week, there were 150 employees.
In the third week, there were 100 employees.
Fourth week, 75 employees.
In the last week, i.e., the eighth week, there are about 40 employees.
Dance class was conducted in a yoga hall, and in that same yoga hall, there are yoga classes being conducted daily, and only about 20 employees come to them.
Of course, there is no comparison between salsa and yoga, and there is nothing wrong with salsa. In fact, everyone should try something new.
The point here is that it is easy to get attracted towards something that looks shiny and exciting from the outside, and it is so rare to get attracted towards something that looks quiet and boring from the outside.
Same thing applies to your goals. Initially, you are very excited about your goals. You follow the routine and track your progress. After a few weeks, the routine starts to feel boring. This happens, that happens. You lose track of progress, and that’s the time when most people quit, and actually that is the time when the real game happens.
When you keep going through the boring routine and the obstacles and challenges and you don’t stop no matter what, that’s when the magic happens.
You get the results because you worked not only when it was exciting & convenient but also when it was boring & inconvenient.
If you are currently experiencing a phase of boredom and not seeing results, that is a sign to keep going, because persisting without quitting will lead to results.
