A carpenter, after working many years in an organization, decided to quit and retire. He visited his boss’s office to inform him regarding this decision.
Boss was sad because he will be losing a good employee, but he understood and accepted his decision to quit and retire; however, Boss made a request.
He asked the carpenter to build one final house. The carpenter thought that he would build the house quickly, so he agreed and started building the house.
Soon, he completed the house and informed his boss of this. His boss was happy, and then as a gift, he gave that house to the carpenter.
Carpenter was shocked. He never knew that this house was his own. If he knew that, then he would build the house differently. He would have built with love, taking care of all the small things. Now he needs to live in the house that he built halfheartedly.
The same applies to life. You are daily building your life.
You live daily, making choices without awareness that those choices are building your life, whether you like it or not. Daily choices decide the life you will be living; if you don’t like it, then you have the power to choose differently, and the moment you do that, your life will also be different.
When building a business, every piece of work, like planning, writing, coding, marketing, or anything related to your business, and all those choices define the business you are building.
When building a body, every meal, every workout, and every night’s sleep all contribute to the body you are building.
When building a relationship, every conversation, every gesture, and every moment of vulnerability builds your relationship.
You can always choose differently, and a small change can make a drastic difference if repeated over time.
